chapter 2 - Taking The Big Step
The transition from a hobby to a living is a big step in a photographers life . While many advice not to !, when the liking becomes passion , it becomes an inevitable choice. Before the big transition make sure you are ready for it .There is no point in going all guns blazing at the first instance, you tend to fizzle out considering the well experienced competition you face. So how do you do it ?,first of all your learning curve should be streamlined,for that catch hold of a good mentor/teacher. Camera technique and post-processing both are vital points to master. Starting a page/website at the first instance is not a wise option and it shows your immaturity. All these come at the fag end of your evolution as a professional photographer. Choosing a genre of photography is another vital step . There are lot of wonderful genre's . The more popular and viable options in india include wildlife ,wedding , street ,fashion, product photography. The most important thing above all is to create your own distinct style that people can attribue to you , rather than being same monotonous photos again and again. Accepting criticism is the way forward in photography, as i still try to improve my photography based on the criticism/feedback from my readers/fans/colleagues... :)
